Trying to make some noise

My cousin Linz posted about her littlest D starting to coo and make cute noises. Her little girl was born a few weeks before CJ was born so they are in similar stages. I had to take video as well because he made some of the same throaty noises. So cute!

beautifying...

Our yard was getting a little overgrown so I had to take matters into my own hands. I started chopping things away to make it a little more appealing to my eye. The girls thought it was great and started "decorating" their house to make it pretty. Here are the results.

"Look Mom, isn't our fort beautiful!"

Happy Birthday Sis!

Not a lot of peop's get to wish their big sis a happy birthday on their OWN birthday. I've had that privilege for 30 yrs now! yikes!! Can ya believe it?!? We're getting old :)
(remember this? Stuffing in cheesecake while watching The Biggest Loser!)

(Us and her little Eman)
Growing up I hated having to share a birthday, but now that I'm old, wise, and far away from you, it would be fun to do again. It's been years since we've been together on our birthday. Maybe someday...until then...Happy Birthday Big Sis (by only 4 mins :P)

Funny quote

Little A said something funny so I had to document it. We spent some time in McCall in June with my parents & my brother & his little fam. My brother was there himself with his little guy at the beginning of the week(his wife was working) and Little A took note of a lot of things that Uncle E did for his little guy. When we returned home I was setting up the baby monitor in my room so I could listen for CJ to wake up from his nap and it went a little like this:

Little A: "Mom, what is that?"
Me: "A monitor so I can listen for CJ if he cries"
Little A: "Oh, a momitor?"
Me: "No, it's monitor...(input emphasis on "N")
Little A: "Well it's a momitor, just like Uncle E has a daditor in McCall"

Heh, she thought she was pretty clever coming up with that.

How cute is that?!?

CJ's first bath. I was excited to be able to give him a bath when his cord finally fell off. (a little over 2 weeks)

He thought it was pretty chill in there!

Father's Day

This was taken on Father's day. All the kiddos piled in bed with their Dad. We made a scrumptious breakfast for him and hopefully made it a special day. CJ is one day shy of 2 weeks :)

One hundred pushup challenge

So the question is:

Are you in, or are you in?

We were just challenged to this 6 week program so I'd thought I'd reciprocate the challenge to those that are up for a push up or two.

100 PUSHUP CHALLENGE

Both Charise and I are doing it so unless you have a better excuse than "I just had a baby 5 weeks ago." I don't want to hear it.

Remember, action brings on motivation, not vica-versa.

Feel free to respond with the affirmative "I'm in" so we know who to hold accountable, and who to dismiss as slackers.

1 week old

Well CJ is really 5 weeks old today, but I'm still trying to play catch up! So here he is at one week old.

Little A climbed in bed and fell asleep next to CJ. I thought it was pretty cute!

Loving having a little baby to cuddle!

Meet the five of us!

Our first family picture!

He's arrived...

OK, I know this is way late (a month late to the date) but I thought I would share some details about CJ's special day. We had just gotten through Little A's special day and had no idea that he would be coming the next day! I was feeling so good on her day (the contractions had subsided a bit) that I thought for sure I would be going until my scheduled inducement date (6/4). I woke up around 1am the morning of the 2nd and started feeling the contractions again. This time they were stronger and timeable again. I sat in bed and timed them for a good 45 minutes before waking up the hubby. I'd been through this before and figured I wouldn't make him lose anymore sleep over it. Once I did wake him up, we sat and debated on if we should go in or not. It would be the THIRD time. We called the mom-in-law, whose so awesome to come over at 2:30 in the morning to watch the girls. When we arrived I had progressed to a 4 so they were keeping me! (yeah!!) I was settled into a room and the walking began. I walked and walked and walked... If I stopped walking the contractions weren't as hard so I kept walking. My Mom was there with me and we were joking that they needed treadmills with TV's so we had something to look at. We were stuck to one floor and not much action was happening that early in the morning. By this time we had seen the switching of the guard (nurse changes) and was back in the room to see the doctor. He was going to come in and break my water to speed things up. Turns out the baby was still high and they didn't want to break it due to cord prolapse so they wanted to wait. More walking...
So finally around 9:45am or so my water broke. Luckily I had just come back into my room so it wasn't out in the hallway :) I was at a 6 at that time and things were moving along pretty quickly after that. CJ arrived at 10:37 am, nice and healthy! (8 lbs, 8 oz.-22 inches)

Birthday cont...

I forgot to post this video of one of Little A's birthday presents. She got a bubble machine that the kids totally loved. Brutus couldn't get enough of the action either.
